christmas before thanksgiving.

last night was the Christmas tree lighting downtown.
we got there early, so we went into the shops that somerset has set up down on woodward.
after we went into every shop we headed back towards the middle of downtown,
the tree is right down in campus martius, where there was live music, delicious lil food stands and people ice skating!
i kinda missed the flipping of the switch to turn the lights on though, because some security guy was trying to get us to move to an "authorized" area of standing. a guy to the left of me responded,
"this is detroit, we ain't gotta listen to you."
so, we all stayed and took our pictures,
but i missed the switch flipping.
it was kind of magical though to be staring at an unlit tree, get distracted, then to look back again and see it all huge and shining with all the multi-colored lights..
on another note, i got the new iphone and it is huge.
well now i gotta get refocused on thanksgiving thanks to the brief intermission last night,
